You find the theories and models behind each area and also what to do when you want to be a TOPP-Leader.</p><p>As a foundation across these four areas, you find the importance of being a strong communicative leader in everything from being able to stand in front of a large audience and convey an inspiring and convincing message to one-on-one discussions, coaching and feedback. Throughout my career as a leader for local, global and diverse teams in different industries, I have found some aspects of leadership that have proven to be important and always worked well in my own leadership. </p><p>Differences in background, education, gender, age or culture of the team members have never been a problem but rather a strong asset to build upon to deliver fantastic results over and over again. Fundamentally, I have found that people disregarding their culture and background need the same basic things from a leader to want to follow the leader and contribute to delivering the outstanding results that are expected. </p><p>Now I want to share my experiences with you, safe in the knowledge that leadership is the most important enabler to deliver positive difference and sustainable results, especially in times of change. </p><p>Victoria Strand has 25 years theoretical and practical experience from leading large and small organizations all over the world in different industries. She has also worked as an executive coach for many leaders on different levels and stages of their careers.</p>

This book describes a way of leading and organising a company which is radically different from that practised by most companies. The starting point is that there are certain timeless human demands that should be met by any organisation. This will lead to organisations that are radically decentralised. The fundamental principle of decentralisation was put to the test when Handelsbanken was completely reorganised 33 years ago. The head office was cut down by a third and (among other things) all budgeting and long term planning was abandoned. Since then the external circumstances in which banks have to operate have varied very much. Handelsbanken has, however, always followed the same basic principles in its work and by doing so has been extraordinarily successful. In this book you will find a description of the ideas behind the principles and a detailed account of how such a different organisation functions. Jan Wallander was born in 1920. After his doctors degree in economics he worked as a scientist and became associate professor at the University of Stockholm. He left the university career in 1960 when he became managing director of Sundsvallsbanken, a provincial bank in the northern part of Sweden. Ten years later he was appointed CEO of Handelsbanken. Subsequently he became Chairman of the Board of the bank. He retired from the bank in 1991, when he was made Honorary Chairman. He has been chairman and a member of the boards of many private and Government-owned companies and is still active as author and lectures.

The report also compares their economic record to that of the euro countries, and assesses if the record would have been different had the three outsiders joined the monetary union from the start. The authors are professors Harry Flam (chairman), Antonio Fatás, Steinar Holden, Tullio Jappelli, Ilian Mihov, Marco Pagano and Charles Wyplosz.
