I februari medverkade Bror Gunnar i både SVTs På Spåret och i mars på festivalen SXSW i Austin, Texas. Han har senaste åren fortsatt att röna stora framgångar utomlands, främst i Frankrike. Han mottog 2018 Manifestgalans pris för bästa singer/songwriter och SKAPs bluespris. Listening to the tracks here made Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Peter Green, Jimmy Page and untold others decide that music would be their life. When his first long player came out in 1961, Robert Johnson had already been dead for 23 years. Little was known of his life, save for the handful of recordings released during his lifetime, and consequently the legend has too often overshadowed the powerful, haunting music Robert Johnson made. Remarkably, for half a century there wasn't even a photograph of him.

Etta James was once considered one of the most overlooked blues and R&B musicians in the music history of the United States. It was not until the early 1990s, when she began receiving major industry awards from the Grammys and the Blues Foundation, that she began to receive wide recognition. James has influenced a wide variety of musicians, including Diana Ross, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, as well as British artists The Rolling Stones, Joss Stone and Adele. Her samples were used by Flo Rida and Avicii' award winning "Levels". Both albums feature selections from early singles dating back as far as 1955, including "Good Rockin' Daddy"', "Dance With Me, Henry", "How Big a Fool" and "Strange Things Happening".
