To celebrate the 50th anniversary of David Bowie's Space Oddity single, originally released on <br/>11th July 1969 and the first David Bowie single to chart in the UK - 7" single boxed set 50th Anniversary Edition on 12th July 2019.<br/><br/>Space Oddity 50th Anniversary single 1 will feature Space Oddity (Original mono single edit) <br/>cut from the original analogue master tape by Ray Staff at AIR Mastering on the A side and the <br/>original mono B side Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud while single 2 will feature 2019 Mix - <br/>single edit of Space Oddity on the A side and Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud 2019 Mix - <br/>single version on the B side.<br/><br/>The sleeve housing single 1 is the rare original UK promotional picture sleeve (the sleeve and label feature the original Philips trademark specifically cleared for this 50th anniversary release) and the sleeve housing single 2 will be a new design featuring a Ray Stevenson shot from 1969. <br/><br/>The box also includes an info card and double sided poster featuring an original Space Oddity press ad and an alternative Ray Stevenson shot of David from 1969.

4 x 7" VINYL SINGLES BOX SET OF PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED* DAVID BOWIE RECORDINGS INCLUDING THE EARLIEST KNOWN VERSIONS OF SPACE ODDITY<br/><br/>The title 'Spying Through A Keyhole' is a lyric taken from the previously unknown song, Love All Around, and though most of the other titles are known, these versions have never been officially released until late last year (see footnote). Most of the recordings are solo vocal and acoustic home demo performances, unless otherwise stated.<br/> <br/>The photography that adorns the box front and the print inside is by Ray Stevenson and was taken in Tony Visconti's flat in the summer of 1968.<br/>The design of each single label is presented to reflect the way David sent many of his demos to publishers and record companies, featuring his own handwritten song titles on EMIDISC acetate labels. The singles themselves are all mono and play at 45 r.p.m.

Following on from Spying Through A Keyhole we continue to mark 50 years since David Bowie's <br/>first hit, 'Space Oddity'.<br/><br/>In early 1969 at his flat in Clareville Grove, London, David Bowie with John 'Hutch' Hutchinson <br/>continued to demo 'Space Oddity' and other tracks. <br/><br/>This live demo tape session is set for release as a 7" vinyl singles box set of six home demos, four of which are previously unreleased recordings.<br/><br/>As with the Spying Through A Keyhole vinyl singles box set, the design of each single label is <br/>presented to reflect the way David sent many of his demos to publishers and record companies, <br/>featuring his own handwritten song titles on EMIDISC acetate labels with cover and print photos by David's then manager Ken Pitt taken in the Clareville Grove flat. <br/><br/>The singles themselves are all mono and play at 45 r.p.m.
