Maken till comeback var det längesen man såg. Albumet Across the Universe som släpptes 2015 blev en succe' världen över och framförallt i Storbritannien. Då ska inte prata om turnén som följde på detta. Det märktes att saknaden efter Jeff och ELO låtar varit enorm. Spelningarna förvandlades till ett enda långt karaoke party. Tyvärr nådde inte turnén Sverige denna gång, men vi håller tummarna för en spelning framöver. Tills dels för vi ge oss till tåls med detta album och DVD från den utsålda Wembley konserten i juni 2017.

This latest addition to the From The Vault series captures a truly unique event in the long and eventful history of The Rolling Stones. On the 20th May 2015 at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, California, the band performed the entire Sticky Fingers album live in concert for the first and so far only time in their career. The show celebrated the reissue of the Sticky Fingers album and was the opening night of The Rolling Stones Zip Code Tour of North America that would run over the next two months. The intimate setting of the Fonda Theatre was in contrast to the huge stadiums in which the band would perform for the rest of the tour and made this an incredibly special occasion for those fans lucky enough to get a ticket. The DVD include interviews with the band members intercut with full length performances. With the album The Source, Arjen Lucassen adds a whole new chapter to his impressive body of work Ayreon, for which he already laid the foundation in the mid 90's. The Source offers once again everything that gained him dedicated fans worldwide: an impressive cast of singers and musicians, compelling songs, an overwhelming sound and an intriguing story.<br/><br/>The international status of Ayreon has been such that Arjen Lucassen could write his characters with some of the most respected singers in rock in mind: James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Tommy Giles Rogers (Between the Buried and Me), Simone Simons (Epica), Mike Mills (Toehider), Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Michael Eriksen (Circus Maximus), Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia), Nils K. Rue (Pagan's Mind), Zaher Zorgati (Myrath), Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) and Russell Allen (Symphony X). Special musical contributions were offered by guitarists Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Guthrie Govan (The Aristocrats, Asia, Steven Wilson), Marcel Coenen and keyboard player Mark Kelly (Marillion). Like on all his previous albums Arjen Lucassen played on a wide variety of instruments, while drummer extraordinaire Ed Warby (o.a. Elegy, Gorefest, Hail Of Bullets) added once again inimitable performances to an Ayreon album.<br/><br/>The Story of The Source is initially set on Alpha, a planet that is facing a potentially fatal crisis six billion years ago. Ecological and political catastrophes threaten all human life. It's with the help of a computer mainframe - The Frame - that the population tries to change the course of events. The computers' intelligence has by then surpassed that of humanity. They reach the conclusion that their creators are the biggest problem. The 'Frame' intends to save the planet, but wants to exterminate humanity at the same time. It leaves The Alphans no other option then to try and escape a terrible fate. But, at a very high price.<br/><br/>The Source is a title that's open to various interpretations. It's a reference to water and therefore the water planet where the ones who escaped from Alpha find a new and safe home after a long and enduring journey. The Source also points at the origins of humanity. Where are we coming from? It also hints at the place that The Source takes in the entire Ayreon catalogue. The Source can be considered as the prequel - the source - to the entire epic Ayreon saga.

If Europe's 2015 album "War Of Kings" was the album that made the rock world realise what a formidable act Europe had become then "Walk The Earth" is the album that is set to establish the band as one of the most exciting contemporary rock acts of current times.<br/><br/>From the anthemic sound of the opening track "Walk The Earth" - to the heavy vibe that is "Haze", from the instant melody of "Election Day" to the lyrical content of "Kingdom United", "Walk The Earth" is the album that should see Europe rightly acclaimed as a band at the height of their powers. The wonderful melodies and depth of Joey Tempest's vocals along with a powerhouse rhythm section and the guitar playing of John Norum, one of the great underrated guitarists. Norum's guitar playing shines across the record. This is an album that is big in its scope and sound. Much like previous album "War Of Kings", "Walk The Earth" is an album that has instant appeal but is also an album that needs to be lived with, in order to uncover its depth.
