"Rattle That Lock" är David Gilmours fjärde studioalbum och uppföljaren till "On An Island" som släpptes 2006. Albumet har skrivits tillsammans med Gilmours låtskrivande kompanjon och kollega Polly Samson och producerats av Gilmour själv med hjälp av Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music).<br/><br/>Tung vinyl.

"Black Messiah" tar vid där "Voodoo" slutade och bygger på samma sound: det är mörkt, rått,<br/>jammigt och svängigt. I den mån D'Angelo har utvecklats musikaliskt har han rört sig från den mjuka soulen och närmat sig funkig rock: detta är inte så mycket neosoul som det är neo-blues.<br/>Å andra sidan låter D'Angelo fortfarande som ingen annan. Det råa och jordnära i "Black Messiah" blir en frisk fläkt, och D'Angelo sjunger som bara han kan, med säregna melodier och spöklik falsett. It's about people rising up in Ferguson and in Egypt and in Occupy Wall Street and everyplace where a community has had enough and decides to make change happen. It's not about praising one charismatic leader but celebrating thousands of them. Not every song on this album is politically charged (though many are) but calling this album Black Messiah creates a landscape where these songs can live to the fullest. Black Messiah is not one man.
