Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey star in the first instalment of this adaptation of the stage musical which follows its first act. In the Land of Oz, Elphaba Thropp (Erivo) sets out on the path that will ultimately lead to her becoming the Wicked Witch of the West. At Shiz University she meets the popular and endlessly upbeat Glinda (Grande) and the two are forced to become roommates. As Elphaba begins to form a real friendship with Glinda, she becomes aware that there is something very wrong in Oz. However, when she discovers the shocking truth about who is responsible, there will be consequences should she refuse to join them. The cast also includes Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and Marissa Bode.
