Gareth Edwards directs this futuristic sci-fi action thriller starring John David Washington, Gemma Chan and Allison Janney. After a nuclear warhead was detonated in Los Angeles, the United States sought to deactivate and destroy all AI-equipped technology to prevent its threat to humankind, whilst New Asia continued develop and integrate AI into society. American soldier Joshua (Washington) is sent on a covert mission to New Asia to infiltrate a group which has connections to the mysterious Nirmata, an AI creator whose identity remains unknown and who is rumoured to have created a powerful AI weapon. Joshua, however, has since fallen for his source, Maya (Chan), who is expecting his child. One fateful night, Joshua's world is turned upside down when the US military's weaponised space station, NOMAD, launches a strike on the territory the group are occupying, leaving Joshua reeling. Years later, Joshua is sent to track down and destroy Nirmata's weapon, but everything changes when he learns what it was made for...
