Vladimir Ilin stars as Dr Ragin, a psychiatric doctor in a suburban hospital who becomes increasingly drawn into deep philosophical discussions with the patients on his ward, particularly Gromov (Aleksey Vertkov), a highly intelligent yet extremely disturbed patient suffering from paranoid delusions. Over time Ragin begins to disengage with reality and neglect his medical duties, begging the question of where the line should be drawn between introspection and insanity.
