In 'Iron Sky' (2012) a group of German scientists send a fleet of Nazi spaceships to the far side of the Moon to set up the Schwarze Sonne military base during the final days of WWII. Years later, with the base fully complete and having developed a powerful army, the Moon Nazis launch an attack on Earth hoping to conquer the human population. In the sequel, 'Iron Sky: The Coming Race' (2019), after Earth is destroyed by nuclear war a sparse population of human survivors take up temporary residence on the dark side of the Moon. When rumours surface about a hidden city in the hollow core of the Earth a small crew of humans go to investigate if it will be possible to reside there permanently. However, once they arrive they find that the city is populated by the Moon Nazis led by Adolf Hitler (Udo Kier). In the first series, Reginald Tate plays Professor Bernard Quatermass, head of the British Rocket Group, an experimental research body. Awaiting the return of the first manned flight into space, Quatermass sees the rocket crash miles off course with two of its three-man crew having disappeared. Tests reveal the rocket was attacked, and in a London hospital the surviving crewman is undergoing a terrible metamorphosis. In 'Quatermass II' strange metallic meteorites rain down over Winnerden Flats, an eerie new town in the vicinity of a highly guarded chemical plant. Professor Quatermass (John Robinson) is intrigued to discover that contact with the meteorites causes an unusual infection, and is astonished to find that the chemical plant appears to be modelled after his own design for a moonbase - a design that enables life to thrive in an artificial atmosphere. Quatermass' investigation uncovers a sinister conspiracy that extends from government level to the zombie-like workers who will stop at nothing to protect the plant. In the third series, 'Quatermass and the Pit', Andre Morell stars as Quatermass, whose curiosity is aroused when ancient bones and a strange pod are dug up on a Knightsbridge building site. Closer inspection reveals the pod to be made of an unfeasibly strong material and to contain unidentifiable creatures inside it. Could this discovery begin to explain the string of disturbing events that have taken place in the area over the centuries, as well as the wave of sinister occurences that are now engulfing the entire city? A radical and controversial series at the time, 'Quatermass' developed many visual techniques that greatly influenced later BBC series like 'Doctor Who.' Never aired on television due to a strike in 1979, the uncompleted six-part adventure 'Shada' traces the chase to recover a powerful book, 'The Artifacts of Gallifrey', stolen from retired timelord Professor Chronotis (Denis Carey). Skagra (Christopher Neame) is the evil despot responsible for this foul jiggery-pokery. Original footage from this episode was used as the Fourth Doctor's involvement in 'The Five Doctors', before it was reassembled, with an older and portlier Tom Baker narrating the missing gaps. Also included is the BBC-produced documentary 'More Than Thirty Years in the Tardis', a compilation of clips spanning the first thirty years of the Doctor, including some previously unseen footage, plus interviews with the many stars, writers, producers and designers.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

As the survivors try to come to terms with what has happened, a group of Americans including President Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman), fighter pilot Steve Hiller (Will Smith) and engineer David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) decide to fight back. In the sequel, 'Independence Day: Resurgence' (2016), two decades have passed since the alien invasion and the world has come together to form the Earth Space Defence (ESD), a global organisation designed to protect the planet from any further attacks. With ESD personnel stationed on Earth, the Moon and Mars, they have spent the last 20 years developing technology that was salvaged from the previous attack. Before their defeat, however, the aliens sent a distress signal back to their planet asking for assistance in the form of a more powerful army.
