John goes on the run, and as parts of his memory begin to return he realizes that the city around him is in a perpetual state of midnight. Aided by Doctor Schreber (Kiefer Sutherland), John discovers that the city is the creation of alien creatures known as the Shadows, who want him removed because of his psychic powers.

In celebration Robin (John Van Eyssen) announces that he is going to get married to Lena (Barbara Payton), not knowing that his assistant Bill (Stephen Murray) is secretly in love with her. With Lena's uncertain co-operation, Bill decides to duplicate her using the duplication machine. At first the experiment seems a success, but the duplicate Lena is a little too accurate and she falls in love with Robin as well. Soon Bill is thinking of ever more devious ways to ensure that he can have the new Lena all to himself...
