<p>Around the world we find stories about vampires of all kind, and here they are portrayed in all their ghastly glory. The list of the undead creatures featured is long and varied - including among many others the beautiful Japanese Snow woman, the Indian Vetala who haunts graveyards, the Scottish water spirit Glaistig, Filipino vampirechildren, Haitian blood sucking witches, Arabic demon deatheaters, and the Japanese hunger ghost Gakin who eats feces. There are around 40 different creatures in all, each one more terrifying than the last. It´s impossible to resist these unique monsters, all sharing similar traits around the world. Fortunately, we not only learn about the ways in which they emerge but also how to protect ourselves from their powers.<br/><br/>This is <strong>Johan Egerkrans</strong> at his very best: vile vampires in an equally horrid and beautiful take. The darker setting aside, his unique style made famous in <em>Vaesen</em> and <em>Nordic Gods</em> is ever present.</p>

<p>This is the first book in a planned series about Offeccts collaborations with various designers from around the world. </p><p>We want to create a cohesive story about our unique collaborations with world-leading designers and provide an in-depth experience of our products. In a way it´s a kind of missionary, to spread knowledge and understanding about the work behind great design. When fairs and other meetings are cancelled, we find other ways , says Maria Olofsson Karemyr, Brand Manager at Offecct.   </p><p>Matti Klenell s collaboration with Offecct started in connection to the renovation of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm in the mid- 2010s. The result was the sofa system Font, launched in 2018 and now extra relevant with several freshly designed modules. In the book and in Carl Javer´s accompanying film, the audience is invited behind the scenes where they get to meet Klenell and Offecct in the midst of the work process.   </p><p>Klenell s design always has an apparent ease. Petter Eklund writes: most things seem to have come about out of curiosity. Things are created, as if unsought for . At the same time, there is a critical eye, not least when it comes to quality awareness and the designer s responsibility to contribute to a sustainable society.   </p><p>Designer Matti Klenell (born 1972) has received the EDIDA Swedish Design Award four times, and several of his designs are represented in museums in Sweden and abroad. He graduated in Interior Architecture from Konstfack    University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm in 1999, and founded his studio in 2000. Klenell moves with ease between handicraft and industrial design. He has created art glass as well as designing furniture and lamps for mass production for companies such as Fontana Arte and Iittala. Klenell is known in the Swedish design community as a facilitator and has been responsible for the Form programme at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, as well as design projects between Sweden and Taiwan. In 2015 Klenell was given the honourable task of overseeing aspects of the new interior for Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. </p>

<p>Konstnären Anna Cassel (1860 1937) har fram till nu lämnat ett förhållandevis blygsamt avtryck i konsthistorien. Hennes konst domineras av storslagna landskap och stadsmiljöer med motiv från Jämtland, Västmanland och Stockholm. Anna Cassel var nära vän med Hilma af Klint de samarbetade andligt och konstnärligt och var medlemmar i den kristna spiritualistiska gruppen De Fem, verksamma 1896 till 1907 och grundad av Sigrid Hedman (1855 1922). Parallellt med arbetet i De Fem, från 1906, samt efter att De Fem upplösts, fortsatte deras samarbete i en grupp som till slut utgjordes av tretton kvinnor. De arbetade gemensamt andligt och konkret med vad som är känt som Målningarna till templet.   </p><p>Nästan ett sekel efter hennes död, börjar Anna Cassels betydelse för vad som är känt som Hilma af Klints verk träda i dagen.    </p><p>I två essäer presenteras Anna Cassel här för en bredare publik och det blir tydligt att samarbetet mellan Cassel och Hilma af Klint var mycket djupare än vi tidigare vetat om. Detta är också första gången Cassels andliga verk Rosens saga tillgängliggjorts i bokform, vilket även var tänkt att ingå i det tempel som Hilma af Klint och hon planerade att uppföra.</p><p>"Boken om Anna Cassel bidrar till att spräcka modernismens omhuldade mytbildning om det ensamma geniet." Sampanerna från Kanton: F.H af Chapmans kinesiska gouacher är en bok om 99 kinesiska akvareller som befunnit sig på svensk mark sedan slutet av 1700-talet. Fredrik af Chapman var skeppsbyggare och varvsamiral. Tillsammans med C A Ehrensvärd blev han en av förgrundsgestalterna i kung Gustaf III:s uppbyggnad av svenska flottans isfria hamnstad i Karlskrona i södra Sverige. Fredrik af Chapmans 99 gouacher föreställer kinesiska båtar på stilla hav med varierande last samt tre med scenerier från magasinen och hamnen i Kanton. På varje tavla är båtmodellens kinesiska namn textad med latinska bokstäver. Båtarna är målade i lager med gouache, en täckande vattenfärg på tunt orientaliskt papper. Gouacherna vittnar om 1700-talets kantonesiska exportmåleri och är samtidigt kunskapsbärare av svensk internationell sjöfart och politik för tiden då Ostindiska Kompaniets verkade i sin mest expansiva period. Gouacherna är därför också ett tidsdokument, som berättar om kosmopoliter under 1700-talet med nytänkande inom sjöfart, arkitektur och kultur. Här ser man delar av den svenska handelsflottan i Kina och bilderna vittnar om en global 1700-talsvärld. Gouacherna hängde på samma plats från år 1786 framtill 2014. Många frågor besvaras i boken men vem eller vilka som skapade verken har förblivit ett mysterium. Boken innehåller samtliga 99 gouacher både i sin helhet och med en del förstorade detaljer.

The text has been written in collaboration with journalist Carl Otto Werkelid, formerly arts editor of Svenska Dagbladet and cultural counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in London. The beautiful picture material is the work of one of Sweden's best-known photographers, Ralf Turander.The book is published in both a Swedish and an English edition.</p>
