Hilma af Klint ingick i en grupp kvinnliga vänner som kallade sig De Fem och var verksamma mellan 1895 och 1910. Tillsammans med Anna Cassel, Cornelia Cederberg, Sigrid Hedman och Mathilda Nilsson var af Klint tidi-gare medlem i Edelweissförbundet ett sällskap som kombinerade kristna idéer, teosofi och spiritualism. De Fem mottog meddelanden från högre andar som de kallade de Höga mästarna och under sina seanser dokumen-terade de i translika tillstånd andarnas meddelanden med automatskrift och medialt tecknande.Det finns 15 skissböcker från denna period och Bokförlaget Stolpe gör nu tre av dessa (S2 HaK 1515, S6 HaK 1519 och S13 HaK 1526) tillgängliga som reproduktioner. De tre skissböckerna säljs tillsammans i ett fodral.
