<p>Martin Jacobson (f. 1978, Sverige) har gjort sig känd för sin teatrala motivvärld där vitt skilda visuella referenser möts i ett sökande efter motiv som för honom tycks mer funna snarare än skapade av honom själv. I sitt personliga bildarkiv, som under åren växt till tusentals bilder, söker Jacobson efter bilder som tycks laddade med kollektiva minnen och associationer. Dessa bilder sammanställs i collage som senare blir förlagor till hans målningar i vilka det bekanta tar en ny form och det obekanta likväl kan ge en känsla av att ha hittat hem. </p><p>Jacobson har sedan han utexaminerades från Malmö Konsthögskola 2005 haft flertalet separat- och grupputställningar både i Skandinavien och internationellt. Hans senaste projekt inkluderar monumentala scenografier som visades på Wanås Konst (2021), samt en omfattande soloutställning på Vandalorum, Värnamo (2019). Hans verk har även visats i utställningen <i>Martin Jacobson: Exkursioner</i> på Nordiska Akvarellmuseet, <i>Martin Jacobson: The Traveller s Guide to the Other Side</i> på La Conservera i Murcia, Spanien, och i utställningen <i>The Collectors</i>, curerad av Elmgreen &amp; Dragset, i den danska paviljongen på Venedigbiennalen 2009. </p><p><i>Målningarna i den här boken är ett urval av de senaste tio årens arbeten. Men det gör den inte. </i> Martin Jacobson </p><p>----- </p><p>Martin Jacobson (b. 1978, Sweden) has become well-known for his theatrical motifs where diverse, visual references intermingle in his search for an image that feels as if it was discovered rather than made by him. He collects images for a personal archive that has expanded into thousands of analogue and digital files over the years, with the aim to gather images seemingly saturated with collective memories and references. These images are then composed into collages that serve as foundations for his paintings, where the familiar takes on a new shape and the unknown can still appear familiar, even giving the feeling of having returned home. </p><p>Jacobson has since his graduation from Malmö Art Academy (Malmö, Sweden) in 2005 exhibited at numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Scandinavia and internationally. Recent projects include a set design with monumentally scaled paintings, originally made for a stage show and presented at Wanås Konst in Sweden, as well as an extensive solo exhibition at Vandalorum (Värnamo, Sweden). His works have also been shown in the exhibition <i>Martin Jacobson: Excursions</i> at the Nordic Watercolour Museum, (Skärhamn, Sweden), <i>Martin Jacobson: The Traveller s Guide to the Other Side</i> at La Conservera (Murcia, Spain), and in the exhibition <i>The Collectors</i>, curated by Elmgreen &amp; Dragset in the Danish Pavilion at the 2009 Venice Biennale. </p><p><i>The paintings in this book are a selection of the works of the past decade. To me, they represent some kind of map of the explorations, wanderings, dead ends and dream trips of the past ten years. <p>This is the exciting story of Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and master jewellery designer  and her life. </p><p>The watch with an open bracelet and a mirror dial withour numbers made the silversmith and jewellery designer Torun Bülow-Hübe world-famous. Her innovative, daring, yet elegantly restrained jewellery has captivated people across the world. </p><p>Torun's jewellery was a great success in 1950s and 1960s Paris. The Parisian cafes were the place for that era's celebrated intellectuals Sartre, Picasso, Bardot, Ingrid Bergman  Torun met them all, while writers and jazz musicians became her friends, and all the artistic and creative world wanted her creations. Newspapers and magazines competed for the chance to photograph the stunning silversmith wearing her own jewellery. </p><p>In 1967 Torun entered into partnership with Georg Jensen Silver, and her jewellery became accessible and known all over the world a collaboration now spanning more than 50 years. </p><p>Torun's jewellery remains timelessly modern. But who was she? Here, in intimate conversation with her friend and confidant, author Ann Westin, she reveals her life story and the driving forces behind her lifelong creative work. </p><p><b>Ann Westin</b> is and art historian and well-known former gallery owner and has been at the centre of the Swedish art world and Stockholm art scene for over 50 years. She served as a member of the Board of Friends of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm 2013 2021 and is currently member of the board of a number of art and music institutions. She has been an admirer of Torun's work since the late 1950s and a close friend of the artist since the 1990s. </p><p>She is the author of several articles and forewords in Swedish publications. She regularly organises specifically themed trips to Europe for art and architecture enthusiasts. </p>
