Slow Skiing - Presence And Awareness For Greater Experiences Bok
Slow Skiing is a book about the love of snow nominated to the Swedish Publishing Price in 2021. Meet Frida Hansdotter, The Bunch through Magnus Granér and Alex Hackel, Evelina Nilsson, Andreas Jonsson, Martin Alzén, Per Strömberg and Mårten Johansson in personal interviews about their views on life and skiing. Magnificent pictures and reflective texts wake the urge to feel skis beneath your feet and experience a landscape shrouded in white. Cissi and Mats Erwald write from the heart about presence, self-reflection and being brave enough to change. SLOW SKIING - A book about presence and awareness In this 152-page coffee table book, the authors present a ten-point manifesto that is described in more detail in the book's three chapters. Each chapter contains interviews with different ski profiles, stories from the authors' own experiences and inviting pictures of ski and adventure photographers, such as Alric Ljunghager and Zoya Lynch. The book is written based on the authors' love of skiing and is about reflecting and taking advantage of both winter and life at a slower pace. The authors changed their lives a few years ago to be able to be ski bums every season. With their thoughts and selected images, they arouse the desire to have skis under your feet and to experience the grandeur of a nature embedded in white. IT STARTED IN A CHAIRLIFT - I sat in a chairlift last year and experienced that everyone below was so stressed. The feeling led to many discussions about stress, presence and performance. During the conversations, we understood our need to embrace skiing in a different way. A way where the focus is on presence and awareness to get a greater experience. That was when the idea for the book Slow Skiing was born, says Cissi Erwald. WITH LIMITED RESOURCES - We have run the entire bookproject based on our passion and we publish it in our own company. Together we have taken care of everything from a simple text file to a finished book with an important message. This is the first book we write, but maybe not the last, says Mats Erwald. SAID ABOUT THE BOOK SLOW SKIING - With Slow Skiing, Mats and Cissi have succeeded in describing the love of skiing, consideration for the environment and the climate, and the pleasure of savouring the local culture and cuisine, says Erik Huss, CEO Husstainability, glaciologist, climate expert and scientific advisor in Protect Our Winters. ABOUT THE AUTHORS Cissi and Mats Erwald, designer and corporate consultant respectively, work in the joint company Erwald Group AB. In recent years, they have spent at least one month per season as ski bums in the Alps.

Swim- Monocle's 100 Favourite Spots For A Dip Bok
The Monocle team dips its toe into the world of swimming, revealing 100 beautiful and inspiring places to take the plunge. Swimming is excellent exercise of course, but it's so much more than that: it can be a transcendental experience, offering us space to reflect and to escape. It's an antidote to screens and all-encompassing technology. Perhaps it's the shedding of inhibitions that come with a dip, or could it be that getting somewhere under our own steam is an act that's health-giving, refreshing and life-affirming? Whatever it means to you, swimming - alone or with others, badly or brilliantly - is about being in the moment. This new book celebrates bathing in glorious full-colour photography, revealing the editors' chosen spots from inner-city architectural wonders to lakes, beach clubs and bagni. So whether you're looking to do laps in Italy, tread water in Australia, sink into the icy depths in Iceland - or perhaps just sit on the side and let others do the hard work - this guide includes a setting for everyone. Dive right in.

Equal parts photo-rich lookbook, and cultural commentary, Fly: The Big Book of Basketball Fashion is the story of the extraordinary intersection of high fashion and basketball, from the league's inception to today, and celebrates the iconic style of NBA athletes.

Each chapter explores the style of an era and the cultural influences that shaped it: The league's inception in 1949, pre-Civil Rights Movement, when the NBA was mostly comprised of white players who wore suits and skinny ties. The years following the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the birth of funk and R&B when basketball fashion got flashier (think Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Wilt Chamberlain wearing fur coats and big hats). The Michael Jordan era of the 1980s and 1990s, with its oversize suits. The epic Iverson/Hip-Hop years of the late 1990s and early 2000s. And now to today, a time defined not only by social media and high fashion's birthing of the tunnel walk (think LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Russell Westbrook), but one in which athletes are idealized as style icons and activists, figures who inspire conversations beyond how they play and what they wear.

The Art Of Climbing Bok
A dramatic collection of photographs revealing the world's most beautiful climbing locations, from Tsaranoro in Madagascar and Teplicke in the Czech Republic to Mount Huashan in China.

The popularity of rock climbing is burgeoning across the globe, with dedicated communities practising everything from bouldering to sport climbing, top-roping to free soloing, in beautiful locations around the world. This stunning collection of climbing photography reveals the beauty of the sport from behind the lens, where patterned rock faces, vertical spires, honeycomb holds and sweeping landscapes of ochre, slate and snow all provide breath-taking visual drama. Capturing the beauty, theatre and emotions of a climb in a single shuttered moment invites the viewer to reflect, and meditative texts, written by the world's premier climbers and focusing on themes from intensity to environment, lines to roofs, trace the experience of being out on the rock face. A reference section includes practical details such as a glossary, grading table and list of selected routes.

From the beauty of movement to the bounds of human endeavour, the splendour of landscapes and the allure of otherworldly formations, the art of rock climbing is shown in all its glories.
