Tyson debuterade redan på 60-talen med duon Ian & Sylvia och hans sånger har spelat in av artister som Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Marianne Faithfull, Neil Young, Blue Rodeo och många fler.<br/><br/>Now 78 and still active, Tyson, or 'Raven Singer' - a name bestowed upon him by the Nakoda (Stoney) First Nation - returns with his first new album in four years.<br/><br/>Ian Tyson remains one of the most significant figures in the folk/roots world - and in the world of Western music there are few artists who have better sung the stories of the vanishing cowboy tradition.<br/><br/>From his early success with Ian & Sylvia in the '60s and his breakthrough country rock work with Great Speckled Bird, to his success as a songwriter ('Four Strong Winds', 'Someday<br/>Soon', 'Summer Wages', 'Navajo Rug', etc.) Tyson's solo career has always reflected his life as a rancher in Alberta, Canada.<br/><br/>Ian Tyson's songs have been recorded over the years by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Marianne Faithfull, Neil Young, Blue Rodeo and countless others.<br/><br/>This release comes on the trail of two recent books on Ian's life - his autobiography, The Long Road, and a biography on Ian and Sylvia.
