RAGGED GLORY (1990) was a non-stop celebration for the music Neil Young & Crazy Horse are still creating at full force, and was recorded at Young's Broken Arrow Ranch in Northern California. The 10 song original album is expanded for this re-issue with 4 rare tracks. "Interstate" and "Don't Spook The Horse" were both b-sides to singles. "Box Car" and the 12 minute "Born To Run" were both previously unreleased versions prior to release in the ORS 5 box. The 4 additional songs have resulted with the album expanded to 3 LPss. The album was remastered from the original analogue tapes.

Neil Young's OFFICIAL RELEASE SERIES VOLUME 5 is a stunning collection of four albums that begins with the exciting renaissance that came with the release of FREEDOM in 1989, and continues on the unequaled exploration of collections RAGGED GLORY (1990), WELD (1991) and ARC (1991). In many ways, it is a musical travelogue of how Young saw the future and opened up creative worlds for the use of sound and originality which had not been used before. <br/><br/>Like all the reissues in this series, the albums are remastered from the best source available -original analog tape in the case of Ragged Glory. The CD of Ragged Glory has also been remastered. <br/><br/>The box set are numbered.

Neil Young's 1971 solo show at The Shakespeare Theater (in Stratford, Connecticut). <br/><br/>The show was filmed and recorded on 22 January 1971, just two months after the release of After The Gold Rush and the concert was shown on German TV later that year. The performance has an amazing setlist but features only a couple of songs from After The Goldrush while Neil previews four from Harvest which, amazingly, was still over a year away from being released at that point.<br/><br/>Young himself considers the performance "superior to our beloved 'Massey Hall'" and says "Young Shakespeare is a very special event. To my fans, I say this is the best ever."

Never Before Released Set Captures Young And Crazy Horse's Electrifying 1990 Show In Santa Cruz, California And Includes Live Versions of Songs from Ragged Glory.

The fourth installment in Neil Young's Official Release Series (ORS): a box set that includes his classic '80s records Hawks & Doves, Reoacotor, and This Note's for You, as well as his Eldorado EP, previously released only in Japan and Australia. <br/><br/>The ORS Vol 4 collects an eclectic set of decade-spanning sounds. Hawks & Doves (1980) revisits his folk roots and explores some of his most country-leaning offerings; the blistering Reoacotor (1981) showcases a stomping set of heavy, overdriven rock with Crazy Horse; and This Note's for You (1988) casts Young as a big band leader, belting out intricately arranged blues. The Eldorado EP (1989) is full of feral distortion and earthy crunch featuring Young backed by The Restless (Chad Cromwell and Rick Rosas). It includes two thundering tracks - "Cocaine Eyes" and "Heavy Love"- not available on any other album.
