This live recording comprises 15 songs captured during 'The Book Of Souls World Tour', which covered 39 countries across six continents during 2016 and 2017, and was seen by over two million fans. <br/><br/>Produced by Tony Newton and Iron Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris, the album is based on this year's set list and is a faithful record of the epic show, including six songs from 'The Book Of Souls', the band's most recent studio album, along with many other classics and fan favourites.<br/><br/>Steve comments, "We spent a huge amount of time working on this as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world. This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show, to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album and capture the excitement of a new country like El Salvador alongside such regular favourites as Donington or Wacken."<br/><br/>Maiden manager Rod Smallwood adds, "'The Book Of Souls World Tour' was a huge undertaking, not least for Bruce who started the tour singing in public for the very first time since recovering from throat cancer. He also piloted Ed-Force One, upgraded last year from a Boeing 757 to a 747 so we could go further and faster to visit some fantastic cities and fans all round the world. This year continued that excitement bringing us our most successful North American and UK tours ever. It was a very special tour in a great many ways so we felt we wanted to document it for both ourselves and for our fans. Deep Purple: Shades of Deep Purple 1968 (Rem) [CD]

Whitesnake scored its first platinum-selling album in 1984 with Slide It In, a release that has sold more than four million copies worldwide thanks to hard-rocking songs like "Love Ain't No Stranger," "Slow An' Easy" and the title track. The classic album turns 35 this year and Rhino is celebrating with several new versions, including an enormous seven-disc box set.<br/><br/>After releasing Saints & Sinners in 1982, Whitesnake reconvened the following year in Germany to begin recording songs for what would become the band's sixth studio album, Slide It In. At the time, band members included Coverdale, guitarists Micky Moody and Mel Galley, bassist Colin Hodgkinson and keyboardist Jon Lord. The album was initially released in 1984 in the U.K., where it climbed into the Top 10. <br/><br/>SLIDE IT IN: THE ULTIMATE SPECIAL EDITION features unreleased versions of every album track, including 35th Anniversary remixes made this year, as well as monitor mixes recorded in 1983. The set boasts more than a dozen unreleased live recordings from 1984 that feature an entire concert from Glasgow, Scotland, plus several songs from Lord's final show with Whitesnake in Sweden. The collection's final disc unearths 30 tracks that cover original demos and early mixes for album tracks, as well as unfinished song ideas.<br/><br/>The DVD from SLIDE IT IN: THE ULTIMATE SPECIAL EDITION mixes music videos and live performances, all of which have been carefully restored and remixed in 5.1 Surround Sound for the first time ever. A newly recorded interview with singer David Coverdale rounds out the DVD.
