Till en början arbetade hon med teaterdesign och som lärare. Mini Grey debuterade 2002 med sin första bilderbok Egg Dropoch har sedan dess skrivit och illustrerat ett tiotal böcker. Hon har även illustrerat åt andra författare. Mini Grey har nominerats till och även fått en rad fina priser, bland andra Kate Greenaway Medaljen, de britiska bibliotekariernas pris.
