Sydney Pollack directs this 1960s war drama starring Burt Lancaster, Jean-Pierre Aumont and Patrick O'Neal. Major Abraham Falconer (Lancaster), after an exhausting campaign during the Second World War, leads his tired eight-man squadron to a medieval castle in the Ardennes Forest of Belgium hoping for some rest. The Count of Maldorais (Aumont), owner of the castle, welcomes the soldiers and even encourages Falconer to impregnate his young wife as the Count himself is impotent.<br/><br/>The rest of the squadron have escapades of their own and are beginning to settle down to enjoy themselves when the Germans invade the forest and the troops have to resume fighting.

After travelling to Japan, Kilmer seeks help from Ken Tanaka (Takakura), a man who owes Kilmer a great debt, but soon both of their lives are in danger.
