Darling är en brittisk romantisk dramafilm från 1965 i regi av John Schlesinger. Huvudrollsinnehavaren Julie Christie, som fick förkroppsliga det frigjorda och jämlika kvinnoidealet i 60-talsfilmer, belönades med en Oscar för bästa kvinnliga huvudroll.<br/><br/>Den unga och vackra modellen Diana Scott kommer från en enkel bakgrund, men är fast besluten att bli rik och berömd. Med cowboyhatt och ett charmigt leende kommer Joe Buck (Jon Voight) från Texas till New York, där han är övertygad om att han har en framtid som välbetalt sällskap åt ensamma kvinnor. En av de mest utmanande och gripande thrillers som någonsin gjorts är baserad på William Goldmans bästsäljare. Oscar®-belönade Dustin Hoffman (Rainman) spelar en sympatisk student och maratonlöpare som mot sin vilja dras in i ett dödligt spel där b1.a. Christian Szell, en nazist på rymmen, är inblandad. Laurence Olivier nominerades till en Oscar® för sitt kyliga porträtt av den sadistiske Szell som förvandlar tandläkarinstrument till tortyrredskap utan att blinka. "Maratonmannen" är regisserad av John Schlesinger och är olidligt spännande ända till den gastkramande upplösningen. I rollerna ser vi också bl.a. Roy Scheider och William Devane.
