The notion of darkness and the fear it instills is utilized as a scaremongering theme but is alternated with jarring scenes of pure white light when the ship nears its objective. Ett riktigt bra thriller-äventyr av Danny Boyle med Leonardo DiCaprio i spetsen som alltid levererar!<br/><br/>Det slår gnistor om Leonardo DiCaprio i denna adrenalinpumpande och intensiva thriller av regissören till Trainspotting. Richard (Leonardo DiCaprio) är en ung amerikans backpacker som sätter sitt liv på spel för en enda sak: Den gränslösa fihetskänslan man upplever i det ultimata äventyret. Men på en hemlig och förrdiskt perfekt strand får han snart uppleva att när spänningen stiger och insatserna växer, ökar begäret och farorna blir att mer dödliga. <br/>Förutom DiCaprio ser vi även den vackra Virginie Ledoyen i en film som är en resa in i det okända, full av överraskningar, förväxlingar, förälskelse, lust och begär, och som utforskar farorna och mörkret som lurar vid paradiset strand.

Renton, Spud and Sick Boy's issues with drugs alternatively irritate and amuse their friend Begbie (Robert Carlyle), a periodic psychopath whose outbursts of violence are one of the many factors that convince Renton to leave for London in the hope of starting a new life. Renton enjoys some success remoulding himself as an estate agent in the English capital, but it isn't long before his friends catch up with him. When he comes around and recovers from his head injury, he plays a song by The Beatles for his friends, only to discover that they have never heard of The Beatles and believe that the tune is an original song written by Jack. He begins to use this strange turn of events to his advantage, but when his increasing fame starts to get out of hand Jack starts to question what matters most in life.
