Withers Bill
Bill Withers, född 4 juli 1938 i Slab Fork, West Virginia, USA, är en amerikansk singer-songwriter som uppträdde och spelade in musik inom soul och R&B från början av 1960-talet till mitten på 1980-talet.
Withers har släppt skivor från 1971 till 1985. Han slog igenom hos skivbolaget Sussex Records 1971 med sin debutsingel "Ain't No Sunshine" från albumet Just As I Am. Några andra populära sånger är "Lovely Day", "Lean On Me" och "Just the Two of Us".
Många sångare och rappare har gjort covers på flera av hans låtar. Den 9 juni 2005 blev Withers invald i Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Right from the opening acoustic strum of "Harlem" on his fabulous debut album 'Just As I Am' and onto the gutsy pump of "Lonely Town, Lonely Street" which opens the equally brill follow up LP 'Still Bill' the sound quality is truly glorious throughout. The live double 'Carnegie Hall' like Donny Hathaway 'Live' from 1972 has garnished a legendary reputation amongst soul aficionados. All the albums are remastered from the original analog tapes.
