King B B
B.B. King ("Blues Boy" King; egentligen Riley B. King), född 16 september 1925 i Itta Bena, Mississippi, USA, är en amerikansk gitarrist och sångare. B.B. King räknas som en av de största artisterna inom bluesen (han spelar även soul) och är känd för att tillsammans med sin gitarr Lucille (Gibson) turnera mycket och ofta. Hans mest berömda låt är "The Thrill is Gone".
B.B. King är en av de mest kända bluesgitarristerna i världen. Han började tidigt med gospel, vilket har präglat hans intensiva sångsätt. King räknas tillsammans med Muddy Waters till de mest stilbildade bluesmusikerna och har påverkat en mängd moderna rockmusiker som Eric Clapton, Dave Murray och Jimi Hendrix.
Musiktidskriften Rolling Stone rankade år 2003 B.B. King som den tredje största gitarristen genom tiderna, efter Jimi Hendrix och Duane Allman[1]. 2004 tilldelades han Polarpriset. Enligt tidskriften Living Blues har University of Mississippi utnämnt honom till hedersprofessor i "Southern Studies". B.B King har även fått 14 Grammy Award, från "Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male" (1970) till "Best Traditional Blues Album" (2006).
