This is a recording of a totally acoustic (naked) live set, in a small theatre in Amsterdam.<br/>The set list is from their complete catalogue, old and new songs. Hearing the songs so<br/>'stripped to the bone', shows the great melodies George Kooymans has written over the<br/>years, and it is great to hear the fun they have. George Kooymans is on fire all the way<br/>through this recording accompanied by Barry Hay, both lead vocals and acoustic guitar.<br/>Backed by their old time rhythm section, drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk and on the doublebass<br/>Rinus Gerritsen they play with great commitment and run through a hugely exciting<br/>set for an intimate audience. Originally released in 1973, Moontan is the album that gained Golden Earring an enormous amount of international popularity, primarily on the strength of the hit single and enduring radio favourite "Radar Love".<br/><br/>To this day, their ninth album Moontan is their most successful album internationally - being the only Golden Earring album to be certified Gold by the RIAA - and paved the way for these Dutch rockers in the US. "Radar Love" reached #13 on the Billboard Single Charts and has been covered over 500 times ever since, including by U2, R.E.M. and Def Leppard. <br/><br/>Around the time of the album release, Golden Earring toured the States with opening acts that would become huge rock bands only a few years later (Aerosmith, KISS). They also shared stages with Led Zeppelin and The Who amongst others.<br/><br/>This is a remastered & expanded 2LP edition from the first-generation master tapes of Moontan, overseen by Red Bullet catalogue and band archivist Wouter Bessels. This version features 3 previously unreleased mixes and 4 bonus tracks. It is available on black vinyl and includes an 8-page booklet with an essay, memorabilia, and photos.

Golden Earring: Collected 1967-2005 [Digibook / 3 CD]

On the first of February, Golden Earring played in Ahoy, Rotterdam for the first time in 23 years. Their setlist included all of their biggest hits and fan favourites such as: "Twilight Zone", "Radar Love", "Another 45 Miles", "Going To The Run", and "Just A Little Bit Of Peace In My Heart" <br/>amongst others. After celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2005 this live registration shows how they were still eager, relevant and energetic as ever. <br/><br/>The recordings were originally released as a DVD in 2006 and are now available on vinyl for the first time. Live In Ahoy 2006 is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl and includes an insert.
