Nicke Andersson once described Freedom as a "bargain basement Springsteen" - a band making music meant to follow you through thick and thin, far into those never-ending summer nights. En av de mest uppmärksammade och omhuldade rockplattorna under 2021 var debutalbumet från Freedom, Stockholmsbandet som med sin soliga arbetarrock lyckades låta helt fullfjädrade och kompletta med en gång. Bland bandets största fans finns hela The Hellacopters som handplockade Freedom för att spela på sin releasefest i april 2022. Referenspunkterna är många (Bruce Springsteen och Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers är bara två av många namn som brukar komma upp), men ingen annan låter som Freedom.
