Året är 1944. Andra världskriget härjar vidare på många fronter. <br/><br/>Soldaten Jack (Lachlan Nieboer, Downton Abbey) deserterar från sitt förband så han kan återförenas med sin fru Eva (Alicia Agnesson, Vikings). Under hans frånvaro har hon sökt sig till en isolerad bergsby för att få arbete i en ammunitionsfabrik. Problemet är bara att fabriken och det lilla samhället styrs av traktens "starke man" Bar (Brian Caspe, Jojo Rabbit) med utpräglad smak för dekadens och att se området som sitt privata kungadöme. När hemliga polisen dyker upp i jakt på avhoppare från armén mörknar det unga parets framtidsutsikter i ett slag.

He dismantles his house entirely, intent on rebuilding it somewhere safe in their honour, but when the Red Army find out about his return they send Igor Draganov (Stephen Lang), the soldier who killed Aatami's family, to kill him.
