Covenant har numera en helt svensk lineup som består av: Eskil Simonsson (vocals, composition), Daniel Jonasson (keys samplers), Andreas Catjar (keys, gitarr) och Joakim Montelius (lyrics, patterns) som nu är tillbaka i bandet.<br/><br/>Snygg specialutgåva. Fet digi med bonus-cd matad med över 73 minuter musik.

"The Blinding Dark" is definitely not Covenant's most easily accessible album. It does not contain as many hits as classics like "Northern Light" or "United States Of Mind", and it is surely less pleasant than Covenant's most striking earworms "Dead Stars" and "Happy Man". Still, "The Blinding Dark" is exciting not only because of its telling title, but also since it shows a remarkable development in style, something that Covenant decidedly wanted with this record - and not least thanks to the subject matter they address. Of course, dancefloors will still shake during "Sound Mirrors", "Immortal" or "I Close My Eyes", yet the albums focuses rather suppressed tracks of subtle darkness such as the Kraftwerk- and Jarré-inspired "Dies Irae" and the Lee Hazelwood(!) cover "Rider On A Wild Horse", a 1977 country anthem that has been turned into a sombre, sluggish electro requiem with heavy acoustic drums.<br/> <br/>Eventually "The Blinding Dark" offers a lot to discover, not least probably because long-standing Covenant member Joakim Montelius has once again taken more responsibility in the studio than on their previous works and due to the fact that Daniel Myer (haujobb, Architect) has returned as a permanent fixture in the group's live line-up.<br/> <br/>Thus, "The Blinding Dark" may hark back to one of Covenant's less "hit-heavy" records that turned out to have more depth and longevity just because of its raw character. It is their second full-length "Sequencer" that could have been the blueprint for the mood on "The Blinding Dark" with slower numbers such as "Tabula Rasa" or "Flux". And there could be worse references, right?

The last dance is usually something special. Something that you do not forget easily or forgo lightly. So it usually stays in your memory for a longer time, if you think back to an evening. And this time, our choice for last dance are the Swedes from Covenant: their limited edition six track EP "Last Dance" services as the impressive acoustic entréewith which Covenant report back from their studio in Helsingborg, Sweden, to open up for their forthcoming album "Leaving<br/>Babylon".<br/><br/>On this "Last Dance", that Covenant dedicate to us, we will surely remember, as it makes the dancefloor collapse, and lets us fall into a chaos of babylonic proportions. "We are not leaving Babylon, not yet." This is the Covenant slogan for the forthcoming campaign and it includes a shimmer of hope amidst all the chaos and confusion. The band itself, is now fully swedish again, after Daniel Myer from Haujobb left the band last year and has been replaced by Andreas<br/>Catjar. Together the Swedes are finding their way away from Babylon, from our system of disinformation and desorientation.<br/><br/>Two years have passed by since "Modern Ruin" Covenants last Album. Two years that Covenant have used intensively for a better songwriting and new songs. The first results can be heard on this EP: majestic synths unexpected harmonies and instruments, heavy beats, Eskil Simonssons unique opera-like voice, transcending over the four songs and two remixes. Each bandmember from Covenant has written an own song for this EP to render his individual fingerprint.
